Day 1: Manila

Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL) is where you will land and start your exciting journey. You can get a flight on the same day from Manila to Coron, but we recommend you to spend one night in the Capital of the Philippines. Some people love it, some people hate it, usually nothing between:D

But we always love to make our own opinion and that’s what we would recommend to you! Plus you don’t want to risk some delay on your flight to Manila and then missing your connecting flight.

street food philippines

Book your accommodation in part of Manila called Makati, where all the restaurants, street food, and shops are. Get some rest and the next day back to the airport, this time domestic terminal ( terminal 4) to board the flight to Coron.

The flight takes around 50 minutes.

The optional way is to take an overnight ferry from Manila to Coron. It takes 11 hours and goes only on Thursday and Sunday.
➵ Find your ferry online

Tip: From the airport and around the city use GRAB TAXI. You can install this free app for your phone and book your taxi anytime and anywhere in Manila. It´s cheapest and safe.

Day 2: Coron

On the morning of day 2 catch a flight to Coron. The airport in Coron is called Francisco B. Reyes Airport (USU) on Busuanga Island. From the airport, you need to take a shared tourist bus which costs around 150 pesos per person to the Coron town.

coron, philippines, island hopping

After arriving in Coron town, get yourself a bike for around 600 pesos per day. One day will be enough as Coron Island on its own is not exciting so you won’t need much time for exploring. The best thing about Coron is the surrounding islands around and therefore the Island hopping trips.

Tip: Island hopping around Coron is one of the best we have experience in the entire Philippines so if it’s in your budget, book one more day of Island hopping for the more remote islands, sand bars, and lagoons.

But it´s worth it because now you are at one of the most spectacular places of this Philipines Travel Guide!

El Nido is a town on the very north of Palawan Island and is home to many pristine white sandy beaches and chilled vibes. And the Island hopping is at least as good as the Coron one!

chocolate hills bohol

Rice terraces, sunrise hikes, the chocolate hill, waterfalls, cave… But the main reason for a lot of people going to Bohol is Tarsier.

The tiny little monkey-like looking animal is endangered spices and active only during the night. Please make sure you visit only the real sanctuary where you are not allowed to touch them and respect their needs.

Day 17 – 20: Siargao Island

Siargao Island was for us the one with the best atmospheres. The idyllic balance between being touristically developed yet with a local life feeling will give you a town called General Luna.

Siargao is a place where you will find so many beautiful places to stay, to relax by the pool during the day and have drinks on the beach during the night. As well you will finally find some great western food options! Yet with so many local street food places, fruit and veggie markets, and second-hand markets.

It´s something different than we have experienced in other parts of the Philippines. You could easily spend here a week or two. Just driving your scooter around thousand of coconut trees, surfing on one of the best waves in the Philippines, watch the sunset on white sandy beaches. Oh and Siargao Island offers island hopping tours too!

Day 21: Travelling back to Manila

Spend your last day traveling to Manila if your flight is in the evening. If you have a morning flight, we will highly recommend you to travel to Manila the day before. All domestic flights in the Philippines are usually delayed or even canceled. To avoid missing your flight home and rather spend some time or 1 night in Manila.

Alternative Philippines travel routes:

Less time for your holiday?
If you are on a tight time budget or if you prefer a slowlier Travel Guide, we would recommend you to skip the Siargao Island. You can save energy and money on traveling to and from Siargao Island and spend more time on El Nido or in Coron.

Prefer a more relaxed holiday?
Visit just El Nido and Siargao Island.
